Each of these iconic floating mountains that can be seen floating in the air around the Draconic Ruins Realm, holds a Deity's Lake at its base.[1] A Deity’s Lake would absorb a large amount of Heavenly Energy from the surrounding area and use it to produce spiritual stones.[2] Because there were many Deity’s Lakes around, they thinned out the Heavenly Energy in the Draconic Ruins Realm.[3]

A Deity’s Lake that is within three thousand years old is at its prime, and thus its most flourishing period. It will produce large numbers of spiritual stones annually. Once those three thousand years have passed, a they will gradually begin to dry up.[3]

The number of Deity’s Lakes is extremely limited. As the years pass, the number of lakes are becoming less, so the supply of spiritual stones was perpetually unable to meet the demand. This results in an intense battle over the Deity’s Lakes by the large sects.[2]

Deity Roots

At the heart of each Deity's Lake is a Deity Root. They are believed to possess intelligence. They burrow deep underground, absorbing the essences between Heaven and Earth. After being nurtured that way for thousands of years, it would gradually amass a mountain of earth and slowly float into the sky, forming a Deity’s Lake. Then, it would produce spiritual stones as it grows from absorbing the ambient Heavenly Energy.[1]

When a Deity’s Lake dries up, the Deity Root will also disappear. The only way to remove a Deity Root from the earth is to use special inscription pattern arrays.[1]

After acquiring the Myriad Miles Rivers and Mountains Painting, Nie Li was able to capture several the Deity Roots and place them inside the painting.[1] After being placed within the painting the Deity Roots would quickly form a new Deity’s Lake and started producing far more spiritual stones then it ever had before. It even formed three spiritual stone essences in a month, a rate that should be unthinkable in low grade Deity's Lakes.[3]

A medium grade Deity's Lake is about three times the size of the near dead Ling Jade Deity's Lake.[4]
