Originally from the Divine Continent, she represents the Heavenly Note Sect of the Draconic Ruins Realm during the Lord of Nether's Disciple Selection. She gets second choice and, after observing the group of participates, she chose to both Xiao Ning'er and Ye Ziyun, rather then the more promising Demon Lord. She seems to prefer female disciples.[1]
After observing the battle between the Demon Lord and Nie Li, she was very impressed with both of them. Though it appeared that the Demon Lord was slightly stronger, Nie Li also could hold his own. She was also surprised to see Yu Yan.[4]
When Zhu Long shows up, Ming Fei goes out to meet him, but he has lost a lot of his strength in the recent battles with the Demon God Sect while Zhu Long has grown in strength. Ling Yun and Tian Hun reveal themselves and join him, forcing Zhu Long to temperamentally retreat. She is shocked by Zhu Long's strength and fears that even all seven of them would be unable to defeat him.[5]
She is there when Ming Fei explains to those who passed the disciple selection and greets her chosen students: Xiao Ning'er, Ye Ziyun, and Xiao Xue.[3] After allowing them three months to say their goodbyes, she travels with them through the gate to the Heavenly Note Sect.[6]
